Meditation doesn't require a yoga mat, bolster, or an instructor. Meditation can be done while you’re driving or even while cooking. Here’s how:
- Wherever you are, focus your mind on your task at hand. Feel the steering wheel in your hands if you’re driving; breathe deeply and smell what you’re cooking. This helps you become present.
- Begin humming or breathing steadily. You can hum the same note or song to yourself, or you can add a count to your breath.
- While meditating throughout the day, keep in mind your goal: to center and still your mind. Focus on being open, receptive, and relaxed.
