Many exercise and diet programs only address just that – exercise and diet. However, a three-prong approach is much more successful. Here’s why:
- The mental piece of exercise and diet programs needs to be present in order to ensure success. If you’re only focusing on your workouts or on your diet, you’re missing a link.
- That link is crucial to help you stay on track of get back on track if you fall off. First, figure out your reasons for exercising or dieting.
- Then, boost your body image and self-esteem before you see any noticeable changes in your body. Reinforce your reasons for committing to the program and why you value yourself enough to stay the course.
- Strengthening your reasons for committing to yourself with keep you from being discouraged if you’re not seeing results quickly.
