When it’s hot outside, often times we’re not only dehydrated, but we’re also craving something tasty. Here’s how to think before you drink this summer, and what you should reach for:

  • Try to always have water on hand. This will keep you hydrated, and you won’t overload on sugary drinks that taste flavorful, but can actually cause weight gain or even just an upset stomach.

  • Look at the ingredients of your beverage. If there are a lot of ingredients that you can’t pronounce, then they are most likely chemicals, which are harmful for your body.

  • If you’re consuming alcoholic beverages, be mindful of how fast you’re drinking. You may be dehydrated and need water first so that you don’t drink too much too quickly and end up with a miserable hangover later that day or the next day.
